Dog Birthday Cupcakes (Easy Peanut Butter Pupcakes)

Ingredients
PUPCAKES
- 1 cup all-purpose flour can also use whole wheat if preferred
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ cup natural peanut butter ensure this only contains peanuts and there is no xylitol (toxic to dogs)
- ½ cup pure pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling (also toxic to dogs)
- ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1 large egg
FROSTING
- ¾ cup plain greek yogurt
- ⅓ cup peanut butter
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°F and line a muffin tin with 8 cupcake liners or lightly grease it.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted peanut butter, pumpkin puree, applesauce, and egg until smooth.
- Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until it’s all mixed together. The batter should be thick but smooth.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
- Pop those cupcakes in the oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
- If you really want to go all out, mix together the Greek yogurt and peanut butter for a simple, dog-friendly frosting. Once the cupcakes are cool, frost away! Add a dog treat or sprinkle on top for some extra flair.
