- 3 tbsp butter
- 6 cups rice krispie cereal
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 50 regular size marshmallows
- ¾ cup shredded unsweetened coconut
- 60 cadbury mini eggs
In a large pot, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
Add Rice Krispie cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Stir until well coated.
Immediately spoon the mixture into greased muffin tins. Press the center down with a greased spoon or greased hands to form a nest shape. The mixture will be very sticky so ensure your hands are greased to make this step easier.
Allow the nests to cool for 10-15 minutes.
If using, dye shredded coconut with green food coloring to create edible grass for the nests.
Once the little nests are set, add the grass for an extra festive touch. Then add the chocolate egg candies.
Let the nests set completely before removing them from the muffin tins. This may take about 30 minutes.
