Keto Taco Salad Recipe With Ground Beef (Low Carb)

Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • ½ red onion diced
  • 1 avocado diced
  • 1-2 jalapenos chopped
  • ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup salsa
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • handful of cilantro

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat (not necessary if using regular ground beef). Brown ground beef or the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  • Drain any excess fat if needed, then stir in the taco seasoning packet and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for a few minutes until the meat is well-coated with the seasoning and the water is absorbed. Set the seasoned taco meat aside.
  • In a large salad bowl, layer the chopped romaine lettuce as the base.
  • Top with the seasoned taco meat, cherry tomatoes, diced red onion, diced avocado, fresh jalapenos, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Add sour cream and salsa to salad.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro for a burst of freshness and color.
  • Toss the salad gently to mix the ingredients and sauces, ensuring every bite is full of delightful flavors.

Notes

Can use my Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix if you'd prefer that over the packaged taco seasoning.
Can use unsweetened greek yogurt in place of sour cream for a higher protein option.
