These smashed dates with peanut butter and chocolate are a quick, no-bake treat that tastes like a homemade candy bar. Sweet Medjool dates, creamy peanut butter, rich melted chocolate, and flaky sea salt create the perfect sweet and salty bite. Keep them in the fridge or freezer for an easy snack when cravings hit.

Ingredients

  • 9 medjool dates
  • ¼ cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • cup dark chocolate chips
  • flakey coarse salt for topping

Instructions

  • Slice each date lengthwise and remove the pit if needed. Place on a parchment-lined tray.
  • Use the bottom of a glass to gently press each date flat into a disc shape.
  • Spoon a small amount of peanut butter onto each flattened date and spread evenly.
  • Melt chocolate in the microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  • Spoon melted chocolate over each date, covering the peanut butter layer. You can fully coat or just drizzle.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt over the top while the chocolate is still warm.
  • Refrigerate for about 20–30 minutes or freeze for 10–15 minutes until set.
