Trader Joe’s Air Fryer Cauliflower Gnocchi

Trader Joe’s Air Fryer Cauliflower Gnocchi resembles little tater tots but are made with cauliflower and cassava flour, and have little to no cauliflower taste. The trader joe’s brand is an easy way to get a delicious meal on the table in minutes that the whole family will love.

This frozen cauliflower gnocchi is a personal favorite. The absolute best way to cook it is by air frying.

The easiest way is by heating it in the microwave, then adding it to the basket of the air fryer in a single layer and cooking till perfection. You can add any type of oil you like with sea salt, black pepper, parmesan cheese, or whatever you’re in the mood for.

If you’re not located near a Trader Joe’s you can make my homemade version of Easy Vegan Cauliflower Gnocchi or my Sweet Potato Gnocchi paired with your sauce of choice. Fresh gnocchi takes a decently long time to make, but it’s worth the effort if you don’t have access to the store bought version.

Crispy air fryer gnocchi seems like a daunting task at first, when in reality it takes 2-3 minutes to prep everything and the air fryer does the rest. Air fryer recipes are always the best as they cut cooking time down a ton and the cooking process is a breeze.

The way to package directions tells you to cook them will not leave you wanting more. There are so many other great ways to prepare your cauliflower gnocchi recipe, and the air fryer is the best way in my humble opinion.

WHAT IS CAULIFLOWER GNOCCHI MADE OF?

Traditional potato gnocchi is made from potatoes, eggs, flour and salt. There is potato starch in this form of gnocchi and is typically served with your favorite sauce as a main dish or a side dish.

This cauliflower version on the other hand is made with cauliflower and cassava flour. It’s a frozen gnocchi which can be tossed into the air fryer basket with olive oil, avocado oil or cooking spray and will come out with a golden brown crispy exterior.

In my opinion, tj’s cauliflower gnocchi is a great option for those trying to eat a lower carb diet while still getting the pasta satisfaction.

HOW TO COOK CAULIFLOWER GNOCCHI

There are many different ways to cook a store-bought bag of gnocchi. You can pan fry them, bake them in the oven on a sheet pan, or my favorite way – in the air fryer.

Start by opening the bag of Trader Joe cauliflower gnocchi and spread them on a plate. Microwave for 1-2 minutes until the gnocchi is thawed (don’t worry if it’s still slightly frozen).

Air fry gnocchi in air fryer for 10-13 minutes on 400F. If you like a crispy texture, you may even want to cook them longer depending on your air fryer.

Remove your cooked gnocchi from the air fryer and serve with your favorite dipping sauce for a quick snack, or toss in alfredo or red sauce. Makes for a delicious meal is no time at all.

If you don’t finish all the gnocchi (which I’m sure you will) but if not you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. For best results you can reheat them in the air fryer for a couple minutes to warm them up again and give them a nice crunch.

IS CAULIFLOWER GNOCCHI HEALTHY?

Yes, trader joe’s cauliflower gnocchi can be a healthy substitute for traditional gnocchi as it’s made with less starch than with potatoes. Non starchy vegetables are typically higher in fibre which will help you stay full for longer.

You can spice them up with garlic powder, salt, pepper and any other spices you like. Then add some of your favorite marinara sauce, alfredo sauce, or my Easy Vegan Pesto Recipe.
