Gluten Free Eggnog French Toast Bites From Basics With Bails

A holiday spin on my favourite brunch classic! This recipe adds eggnog to traditional french toast and is incredibly easy to make! I can pretty much guarantee you will be making this for your family and friends over the holiday season!

Let me start by saying, I am not the biggest fan of store bought eggnog. I LOVE my Dad’s homemade eggnog, which I will share in another blog post this holiday season, but have never grown to love the boxed stuff. HOWEVER, I can get on board with eggnog baked goods LET ME TELL YOU. This french toast is next level, and like I said, so easy to make!

Gluten Free Eggnog French Toast With Yummy Dipping Sauce

French toast has always been a real TREAT in my household. We only have it on special occasions or big brunches with my family and friends. I honestly don’t understand why we never had it more, as it’s so much easier than pancakes or waffles in my opinion. All you have to do is mix up the egg mixture, soak the bread, and cook it! It might start being more of a weekend breakfast in my house from here on in with this recipe!

HOW TO MAKE: PERFECT GLUTEN FREE FRENCH TOAST

The first way, and my favourite way to eat it, is by serving it up in bite size pieces

Start with 4 slices of bread.

Whisk together the eggnog, egg whites, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg.

Heat up a non stick pan and grease with spray or butter.

Soak bread in eggnog mixture for approximately 15-20 seconds on each side, or until it has soaked up the mixture.

Cook on each side for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cut up into bite size pieces and serve with whipped cream, powdered sugar, or butter and syrup! Dip into more eggnog, syrup, or cream cheese icing!

Another fantastic way to serve the best ever french toast is by serving it up whole

The other way to enjoy it is with thick slices of bread. Mix the eggnog, egg whites, cinnamon and nutmeg together in a shallow bowl. Then soak the bread in the egg mixture for 15-20 seconds, so it soaks up all the flavour. Then toss it in a frying pan and cook it for a few minutes until golden brown.

Serve it whole with whipped cream, powdered sugar, or butter and syrup! A little bit less work and SO DELICIOUS!
