Knorr Spinach Dip Recipe
This Knorr Spinach Dip Recipe is one of my favorite dip recipes for game days, the super bowl, or any special event. Made with simple ingredients, this low-carb spinach dip is sure to be a crowd favorite and huge hit every time.
KNORR SPINACH DIP RECIPE
Ever since Knorr stopped printing their spinach dip recipe on the package, people have been freaking out trying to find it. Don’t worry — I’ve got you. This is the OG recipe everyone’s been making (and demolishing) for decades.
The secret? That little yellow packet of Knorr Vegetable Mix. Technically it’s a soup mix, but let’s be real — it’s famous for one thing and one thing only… spinach dip.
It’s cool, creamy, and ridiculously smooth — basically made for dunking. I love it with crackers, chunks of sourdough, and a big plate of fresh veggies like red peppers and carrots. But heads up: it will disappear fast. Like, bread bowl gone fast.

MAIN INGREDIENTS FOR THE KNORR SPINACH DIP RECIPE
You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this classic knorr spinach dip recipe (the exact measurements and full recipe are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post):
- Frozen spinach and fresh spinach – i like using a combination of both in this recipe. You can opt out of the fresh spinach, but it is a great addition.
- Sour cream – I recommend using full fat sour cream for this recipe. Can use low-fat sour cream however the dip won’t be as thick and creamy.
- Mayonnaise – regular mayo works best in this recipe, no light mayonnaise.
- Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix – I have not tried with other mixes or spices. The Knorr mix is a garden medley blend of carrots, onions, tomatoes, celery root, leeks, potatoes, cabbage, peas, broccoli and garlic.
- Water chestnuts – These are a crunchy, aquatic vegetable that grows under water. You can find them in almost any well-stocked grocery store. Look in the international aisle or the Asian foods section, as they’re often added to stir-fries.
- Serve it with keto crackers, keto tortilla chips, low-carb chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks or any other fresh vegetables of your choosing.
HOW TO MAKE THIS EASY SPINACH DIP RECIPE
Remove frozen spinach from bag or box and chop up into small pieces. If spinach is too frozen you can microwave it – thawed spinach is much easier to chop.
Make sure you squeeze out excess water from the spinach with paper towels.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix. Chill for 2-3 hours.
Serve with your favorite dippers like low carb crackers or veggies. Enjoy!
HOW TO MAKE THIS EASY KNORR SPINACH DIP AHEAD
Let the dip chill for at least 2 hours so the flavors really come together — or make it the night before and let it hang out in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
HOW TO MAKE THE KNORR VEGETABLE RECIPE MIX INTO A SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP?
It’s tough to top a good Spinach Artichoke Dip. Just toss in a can of drained, chopped artichoke hearts. Can also boost the flavor with a splash of Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of red pepper flakes, and a little kosher salt and black pepper.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH THE KNORR’S SPINACH DIP
Cold spinach dip is often served in a sourdough bread bowl but you can serve it in a similar way inside of bell peppers. A regular ceramic bowl also works perfectly fine.
You can serve this dip with any type of healthy snacks such as veggie sticks, keto chips, pita chips, broccoli florets, pork rinds, or whatever you desire.
Another option would be baking a thin layer of mozzarella cheese or parmesan cheese and making cheese crisps.
HOW TO STORE THIS CLASSIC RECIPE
To maintain the spinach dip’s freshness, ensure it’s stored in a sealed airtight container in the fridge. It will stay fresh for 3-5 days.
IS THIS CHILLED SPINACH DIP GLUTEN FREE?
Sadly, no — the mix contains a small amount of barley.
CAN I USE GREEK YOGURT IN THIS EASY RECIPE FOR A LIGHTER VERSION?
Yes! You can swap the sour cream for the same amount of thick, creamy Greek yogurt in this dip. Keep in mind this will alter the taste.
