If you want a festive breakfast that tastes like dessert but still has oats, chia, and proteinโฆ this is the one.
Itโs cozy, itโs creamy, itโs giving โDecember morning in fuzzy socks.โ And then we go extra and add a crackly white chocolate shell on top so you get that viral โcrack the toppingโ moment.
Breakfast, but make it fun this holiday season.
Weโre using dairy-free eggnog + almond milk, warm cinnamon, and a little vanilla protein to make it more filling.
Then we melt white chocolate with coconut oil, pour it over the cold oats, and add cinnamon/nutmeg/sprinkles on top so it looks all holiday-ish. Pop it in the freezer for 10 minutes, tap it with a spoon, and boom โ Christmas oats.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE EGGNOG OVERNIGHT OATS
You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this overnight oatmeal (the exact measurements, nutritional value and full recipe are in the printable recipe card below):
- Gluten-free old-fashioned oats or quick oatsย โ Itโs not required to use gluten-free oats for the recipe to work, but you can if you want to lower gluten content. Stay away from using steel-cut oats as they make the oat mixture chewy.
- Dairy-free eggnogย – I love using the So Delicious brand. It’s not necessary to use vegan eggnog in this oatmeal recipe.
- Almond Milkย โ I prefer almond milk as it has a very neutral flavour in these making them almond milk overnight oats, but any non-dairy milk will work here. Cashew milk, coconut milk, oat milk, hemp milk or soy milk can be used and regular cowโs milk will do the job as well if you would prefer to use that.
- Chia Seedsย โ They help thicken the overnight oats by absorbing some of the liquid that might be seeping from the almond milk. They also add healthy fats to the recipe!
- Ground cinnamon

- Pure maple syrup
- white chocolate chipsย โ you can use a vegan brand for dairy-free.
- Coconut oil
- Optional add insย โ nutmeg, sprinkles, almond butter, coconut flakes, vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, or even an extra scoop of protein powder. You can add in whatever you like depending on personal preference

HOW TO MAKE
- Add all oat ingredients to a bowl or jar. Stir well and refrigerate for minimum 2-3 hours or overnight.
- Once oats are set, microwave the white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Pour chocolate over top the oats, then top with cinnamon, nutmeg and sprinkles.
- Put oats in freezer for chocolate to solidify. This will take about 10 minutes. Crack open and enjoy!
