A Wendy’s Frosty that fits your macros and you can make at home anytime. This one hits the exact chocolatey, thick, spoon-or-straw craving, and the cottage cheese blends in so smooth you’d never guess it’s there.

A Ninja Creami Wendy’s Frosty is a copycat frozen dessert made by blending milk, cottage cheese, chocolate protein powder, and pudding mix, freezing it for 24 hours, then spinning it in the Ninja Creami until thick and creamy. The cottage cheese and protein powder are where the protein comes from, and the pudding mix gives it that signature soft-serve texture.

I use Fairlife milk and cottage cheese for the base, which is what pushes the protein up while keeping it tasting like the original. From there it spins into something thick enough to eat with a spoon, exactly like the real thing.

Why You’ll Love This

  • Tastes like the real Frosty, thick, chocolatey, and soft-serve smooth, without the drive-thru trip.
  • High in protein from cottage cheese and protein powder, the kind of treat that fills you up instead of leaving you with a sugar crash.
  • No fancy steps, blend it right in the pint, freeze, and let the Ninja Creami do the work.

Ingredients You Need

  • Fairlife 2% milk โ€” creamy, high in protein, and lower in sugar than regular milk. Whole milk or Fairlife chocolate milk work too.
  • Unsweetened almond milk โ€” thins the base just enough so it spins smooth without watering down the flavor.
  • Cottage cheese โ€” the secret to a creamy, thick Frosty with a big protein boost. Blended, you’ll never know it’s in there.
  • Sugar-free chocolate instant pudding mix โ€” thickens the base and deepens the chocolate flavor so it tastes like a real Frosty.
  • Chocolate protein powder โ€” adds protein and even more chocolate. Use one you like the taste of on its own. I love 1UP Nutrition Chocolate Milkshake protein powder, code BAILS for a discount.
  • Pinch of salt โ€” balances the sweetness and makes the chocolate pop.

How to Make a Ninja Creami Wendy’s Frosty

  1. Add the Fairlife milk, almond milk, cottage cheese, pudding mix, chocolate protein powder, and salt to your Ninja Creami pint up to the max fill line. Blend with a handheld frother until completely smooth.
  2. Cover and freeze flat for 24 hours, until solid all the way through.
  3. Take the pint out and run the outside under warm water for about 60 seconds. Make sure the top is level to protect the blade.
  4. Lock the pint into the machine and press Lite Ice Cream.
  5. If it looks powdery or crumbly after the first spin, add a tablespoon of milk and press Re-Spin. Repeat with a little more milk until it reaches that thick, soft-serve consistency.
  6. Grab a spoon, or a straw if you’re feeling classic, and dig in.

Tips for the Thickest Frosty

Blend the cottage cheese in really well before freezing. This is the step that makes or breaks the texture. Fully blended, it disappears into a smooth base. Under-blended, you’ll get little curds in the final spin.

Use less almond milk if you want it thicker. The more liquid in the base, the softer the result, so hold back a splash if you like your Frosty extra thick.

Freeze the pint dead level, or freeze it without the lid to stop a tall hump from forming in the center. A big frozen peak can push against the blade.

Re-spin with a splash of milk. The base almost always looks crumbly after the first spin, and that’s normal. A tablespoon of milk plus a re-spin brings it together every time.

Variations and Mix-Ins

Mocha Frosty โ€” blend in a shot of espresso or a teaspoon of instant coffee for a chocolate-coffee version.

Peanut butter โ€” swirl in a tablespoon of peanut butter before freezing, or fold in chopped peanut butter cups with the Mix-In button after spinning.

Vanilla Frosty โ€” swap the chocolate pudding and protein for vanilla to make the vanilla version.

Extra chocolatey โ€” add a drizzle of sugar-free chocolate syrup before serving, or fold in dark chocolate chips.

How to Store

Store leftovers right in the Ninja Creami pint with the lid on, and smooth the top flat with a spoon before it goes back in the freezer.

When you want more, let the pint sit out for 5 to 10 minutes, run it under warm water, and Re-Spin with a splash of milk to bring back the thick, creamy texture.

Ninja Creami Wendy’s Frosty FAQ

Does this Frosty taste like cottage cheese? No. Once the cottage cheese is blended into the base and spun, the texture is smooth and the flavor is completely masked by the chocolate, pudding, and protein powder. This is the recipe that wins over cottage cheese skeptics.

Can I make it without cottage cheese? Yes. Swap the cottage cheese for more Fairlife milk or an extra scoop of protein powder. You’ll lose a little of the creaminess and some protein, but it still works.

Why use the Lite Ice Cream setting? Lite Ice Cream gives this base the thick, soft-serve texture of a real Frosty. The higher protein and lower fat in this recipe spin best on that setting, while the regular Ice Cream setting is built for richer, full-fat bases.
