Starbucks Spinach Feta Wrap (Copycat Breakfast Recipe)

If you’ve grabbed a Starbucks Spinach Feta Wrap while getting your morning coffee you know how delicious they are. Now with this feta breakfast wrap recipe you can make the Starbucks spinach feta wrap in the comfort of your own home with just a few simple ingredients.

I’m scary obsessed with these Starbucks spinach feta wraps. If there is one delicious breakfast wrap I’m buying when I’m busy and need a quick morning meal, it’s this!

They have a good amount of protein, they are low calorie, and they are absolutely delicious! The issue I have with them is I was spending far too much money on them every morning, so I figured why not make my own?

The spinach feta egg white wrap is simple to make and so perfect for freezing for busy weeks ahead! Later on I will share my tips on how to freeze them and reheat when you are ready to eat!

The best part about this Starbucks wrap is that you can buy everything from your local grocery store and it tastes exactly like the real thing! No more waiting in the drive-thru during your busy mornings, all you need is a couple of minutes to reheat your wraps before heading out the door!

WHAT IS IN THE TRADITIONAL STARBUCKS FETA WRAPS?

The traditional Starbucks Spinach Feta Wrap typically contains the following ingredients:

  • Whole-Wheat Tortilla: A whole wheat tortilla is used as the base for the wrap.
  • Scrambled Eggs: Scrambled eggs provide a protein-rich filling for the wrap.
  • Spinach: Fresh spinach leaves are added to the wrap, providing a nutritious and flavorful element.
  • Feta Cheese: Crumbled feta cheese adds a tangy and savory flavor to the wrap.
  • Creamy Feta Spread: A creamy feta spread is often included, which enhances the flavor and moisture of the wrap. The spread is made with ingredients like cream cheese, feta cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and garlic.

These ingredients come together to create a balanced and satisfying breakfast option that’s packed with protein, vegetables, and delicious flavors. You can also customize the wrap by adding additional ingredients or adjusting the proportions to suit your taste preferences.

INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED FOR THE COPYCAT STARBUCKS SPINACH FETA WRAP

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this whole-wheat wrap (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post):

  • Fresh Spinach – I used 8 cups of packed spinach for 4 wraps, but it doesn’t have to be perfect. More or less is totally fine.
  • Cream cheese – light cream cheese is recommended to reduce calories and fat but regular cream cheese works perfectly fine as well!
  • Sun-dried tomatoes – do not use regular tomatoes as a replacement. I highly recommend buying some sun-dried tomatoes soaked in olive oil as they have a more powerful taste, and they will not make your wrap soggy.
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt + pepper
  • Cage-free egg whites – I recommend buying a carton of egg whites to save yourself time. Alternatively theres nothing wrong with adding the whole eggs as well, it will just taste a little more rich than the traditional Starbucks spinach feta wrap recipe.
  • Whole wheat tortillas – Honestly any tortilla will work for this recipe, it will just make it taste slightly different. The traditional Starbucks feta wrap has a thicker whole wheat wrap, but I have used whole wheat and a spelt tortilla for these are they both worked great!
  • Feta cheese – again, low fat or regular feta cheese both work for this recipe. Pro tip – do not skimp on the salty feta!

HOW TO MAKE THESE DELICIOUS BREAKFAST WRAPS

  1. In a medium non stick frying pan, cook spinach over medium heat until it has wilted.
  2. Let it cool, then squeeze out excess liquid from spinach using a paper towel.
  3. In a small bowl, add baby spinach, cream cheese, chopped sundried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt & pepper.
  4. Spray the same large skillet with cooking spray. Add the egg whites and cover the pan. Let the egg whites steam until cooked through, about 2–3 minutes.
  5. While the egg whites are cooking, spread the spinach cream cheese mixture over the tortilla, keeping it mainly in the center 1/3 portion. Place the cooked egg white overtop, then add the feta.
  6. Fold the tortilla like a burrito and air fry (or use your toaster oven) on 400F for 6 minutes, flipping half way. Alternatively you can add the wrap back on the pan and heat both sides over medium-high heat.
  7. These are the real deal! To reheat all you need is 1-2 minutes before heading out the door!

WHY THIS STARBUCKS FETA WRAP RECIPE IS AMAZING

  • It’s protein packed, with just under 30 grams of protein per wrap
  • You can prep the Starbucks wraps ahead of time and freeze them for the week
  • They are perfect for busy people on the go or busy families
  • These egg white wraps are absolutely delicious

HOW TO MAKE THE SPINACH FETA WRAP CRISPY

I used my air fryer to get the tortilla extra crispy! If you don’t own an air fryer you can bake it in the oven, and the last few minutes broil the wrap (watching it very carefully).

Another way is if you are doing it on the stove, add a decent amount of oil to the pan and push down on the wrap while frying.

SPINACH FETA WRAP CALORIES

The regular Starbucks feta wrap is 290 calories. It is a great choice if you are on the go and need something with some protein to get your day started the right way!

This homemade version is a bit more loaded and high in protein, it comes in at around 300 calories, depending on the tortilla wrap you use! You could also add more veggies to this spinach feta wrap, or add some bacon or sausage to up the protein content even more!

STORING THE EGG WHITE WRAP RECIPE

Once they are cooked and cooled, add them to an air tight container and refrigerate for up to 5 days.

You can also freeze the spinach egg wrap by wrapping it in wax paper and into a large freezer bag. I date my wraps and freeze them for up to 2 months.

To reheat, make sure they have thawed, and add back into the air fryer at 325F ºF for 7-10 minutes or in the oven at 325ºF for 15-20 minutes.

CAN I USE A DIFFERENT TYPE OF CHEESE OTHER THAN FETA?

While feta is the signature cheese in this wrap, you can experiment with other cheeses like goat cheese or shredded cheddar if you prefer a different flavor.

CAN I ADD OTHER INGREDIENTS TO THE WRAP LIKE VEGGIES OR PROTEIN?

Absolutely! You can customize the wrap by adding ingredients like diced tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, or even cooked bacon or turkey sausage for added flavor and variety.

CAN I FREEZE THE LOW CALORIE WRAPS?

While wraps can be frozen, the texture may change upon thawing. If you want to freeze them, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap or foil, and then place them in a freezer-safe bag. Thaw the frozen wrap in the refrigerator before reheating for an easy breakfast.

  • 1 cup feta cheese, light

Instructions

  1. In a medium non stick frying pan, cook spinach over medium heat until it has wilted.

  3. In a small bowl, add spinach, cream cheese, chopped sundried tomatoes, italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt & pepper. Mix well.

  5. Can you make these ahead and freeze them individually? Or would that ruin the already-cooked egg whites?

      I find them a lot better fresh, however I have cooked and froze them before for meal prep. I let them thaw, and crisp them up again in the air fryer and they turn out pretty good! 🙂
