Ninja Creami Pineapple Sorbet (1-Ingredient Recipe!)
This 1-ingredient Ninja Creami pineapple sorbet is the easiest frozen dessert you’ll ever make โ just dump a can of pineapple into the pint, freeze, and spin. Naturally vegan, dairy-free, and 60 calories per serving.

Ninja Creami pineapple sorbet is a dump-and-spin frozen dessert made by pouring a can of pineapple (with its juice) directly into a Ninja Creami pint, freezing for 24 hours, and spinning on the Sorbet function. The result is a smooth, scoopable sorbet that tastes 100% like fresh pineapple โ no blender, no extra ingredients, no fuss.
This is hands-down the easiest recipe in my Ninja Creami rotation. I keep 2-3 cans of pineapple in the pantry just for this. After testing fresh, frozen, AND canned versions, canned is the clear winner โ the juice in the can provides exactly the right amount of liquid for a smooth spin, and the consistency is reliable every time.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Just 1 ingredient โ a can of pineapple. That’s it.
- No blender required โ pour the can directly into the pint
- Naturally vegan and dairy-free โ pure fruit, nothing else
- Just 60 calories per serving (about 120 per pint)
- Pantry-friendly โ keep cans of pineapple stocked and you can make this anytime
- Customizable โ add coconut milk for Dole Whip-style, or Tajin for sweet-spicy

Ingredients
- One 20oz can of pineapple chunks or tidbits โ packed in juice (less sweet) or light syrup (sweeter). Use what you have. The juice/syrup is critical โ it’s what makes the sorbet creamy instead of icy.
- Optional: 1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice โ brightens the pineapple flavor. Skip if you don’t have it.
- Optional toppings: Tajin seasoning + hot honey for a sweet-spicy finish, coconut flakes for Dole Whip vibes, or fresh pineapple for garnish.

How to Make Ninja Creami Pineapple Sorbet
Step 1: Pour the can into the pint. Open the can of pineapple and pour the chunks AND the juice directly into a Ninja Creami pint. Pour up to the MAX FILL line โ you may have some leftover. Save extras for smoothies or yogurt.
Step 2: Freeze. Place the pint on a level surface in the freezer and freeze for at least 24 hours.

Step 3: Prep for spinning. Run the outside of the pint under warm water for 30-60 seconds.
Step 4: First spin. Install in the Ninja Creami and press the Sorbet button. The texture might look crumbly after the first spin โ that’s normal.

Step 5: Re-spin if needed. Press the Re-Spin button. The sorbet should now be smooth and creamy. If it’s still crumbly, add 1 tablespoon of reserved pineapple juice (or milk/water) and re-spin once more.
Step 6: Serve immediately for the perfect sorbet texture.
Tips for the Best Pineapple Sorbet
- Use canned pineapple in juice or light syrup โ not heavy syrup (too sweet) or water-packed (not sweet enough). Juice gives the best balance.
- Don’t overfill the pint. Stay below the MAX FILL line. The sorbet expands as it spins, and overfilling makes a mess and can damage the blade.
- Save any leftover pineapple juice from the can โ use it for the re-spin if the texture is too crumbly.
- Freeze on a level surface. A tilted freeze creates a dome on top that can damage the Creami blade.
- First spin will look crumbly โ that’s expected. Re-spin is what creates the creamy texture.
- For dye-free yellow color โ pineapple sorbet is naturally a pale yellow. If you want it brighter, add a pinch of turmeric (yes, really โ it’s the dye-free way to get vibrant yellow).
Variations
- Dole Whip-style: Add ยผ cup coconut milk to the pint before freezing for that classic Disney Dole Whip flavor.
- Pineapple-coconut: Add 2-3 tablespoons of full-fat coconut cream and top with toasted coconut flakes.
- Sweet-spicy: After spinning, sprinkle with Tajin and a drizzle of hot honey. Sounds weird, tastes incredible.
- Pineapple-mint: Add 5-6 fresh mint leaves to the pint before freezing.
- Tropical mix: Replace half the pineapple with frozen mango or strawberry chunks.
- Fresh pineapple option: If using fresh, you’ll need 2-3 cups chopped pineapple + ยฝ cup water or pineapple juice. Blend before freezing for the smoothest result.

How to Store
Smooth the top flat with a spoon, put the lid back on, and return to the freezer for up to 2 weeks. When ready to eat again, run the pint under warm water for 30-60 seconds and hit Sorbet to re-spin. Texture will be slightly more icy on the second eat โ add a splash of pineapple juice or water and re-spin to bring back creaminess.
Pro tip: If you transfer the sorbet to another container, it’ll only last a few days before freezer burn sets in. Keep it in the original Creami pint with the lid on for best results.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use fresh pineapple instead of canned?
You can, but canned is genuinely the winner here. Canned pineapple comes packed in juice or syrup, which provides exactly the right amount of liquid for a smooth, creamy spin. Fresh pineapple needs added liquid AND a blender to break down properly, and the results can be inconsistent depending on ripeness. If you do use fresh: 2-3 cups chopped pineapple + ยฝ cup water or pineapple juice, blended before freezing.
Why is my pineapple sorbet crumbly after spinning?
Crumbly after the FIRST spin is normal โ that’s just how the Creami works on the first pass. Press the Re-Spin button and it should turn creamy. If it’s still crumbly after the second spin, add 1 tablespoon of reserved pineapple juice (or any milk) and re-spin one more time.
Is canned pineapple in syrup okay, or should I use juice?
Both work โ it just depends on how sweet you want your sorbet. Pineapple in juice = less sweet, more natural pineapple flavor. In light syrup = medium-sweet, more dessert-like. Pineapple in heavy syrup = very sweet (most like a candy or Dole Whip). Pineapple in water is the only one I don’t recommend โ not enough liquid sweetness for proper sorbet texture.
How long does pineapple sorbet last in the freezer?
Up to 2 weeks in the Ninja Creami pint with the lid on. Re-spin before eating each time for the best texture. Don’t transfer to another container โ you’ll lose texture quality and risk freezer burn within just a few days.
Can I make this Ninja Creami pineapple sorbet without a Ninja Creami?
Not really โ the Creami is specifically what makes frozen fruit smooth and scoopable without dairy. Blending frozen fruit in a regular blender produces more of a smoothie bowl texture, not sorbet.
