Banana Cream Pie Ninja Creami Protein Ice Cream

The creamiest banana cream pie Ninja Creami protein ice cream with 44g of protein per pint. Tastes like real banana cream pie filling with crunchy graham cracker pieces folded in.

A banana cream pie Ninja Creami protein ice cream is a high-protein homemade ice cream made with Fairlife milk, real banana, vanilla protein powder, banana cream pudding mix, and graham wafers. One pint packs 44g of protein and 391 calories โ€” and tastes like banana cream pie filling instead of a sad chemical banana protein shake.

This is a flavor twist on my Ninja Creami Vanilla Protein Ice Cream base โ€” same method, with a real banana blended in and graham wafers folded at the end. The banana adds creaminess (no extra stabilizer needed) and the pudding mix locks in the pie-filling flavor.

Ingredients You’ll Need

(Full measurements in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.)

  • Fairlife 2% milk โ€” pushes the protein up to 44g per pint without piling on calories. Fairlife has 14g of protein per cup. Skim or whole Fairlife works too.
  • Unsweetened almond milk โ€” keeps the calorie count balanced. Cashew milk, oat milk, or coconut milk also work.
  • Vanilla protein powder โ€” I use PEScience Gourmet Vanilla (code BAILEY saves you on all products). Any whey or whey-casein blend works. Skip banana-flavored protein powder here โ€” it’ll push the flavor into “banana laffy taffy” territory and away from real banana cream pie.
  • Ripe banana โ€” the differentiator. Use a banana with brown speckles, not a green or yellow one. The riper it is, the sweeter and more pie-like the flavor. Half a banana is enough.
  • Banana cream Jello pudding mix โ€” locks in the pie-filling flavor and stabilizes the texture so it doesn’t go icy. Sugar-free works the same. Vanilla pudding mix also works in a pinch.
  • Graham wafers โ€” added at the mix-in stage for that pie crust crunch. Pre-crush them so they distribute evenly.

How to Make Banana Cream Pie Ninja Creami Protein Ice Cream

  1. Blend the base. Add the Fairlife milk, almond milk, protein powder, pudding mix, and banana to a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth โ€” banana chunks will mess with the texture.
  2. Pour into the pint. Fill the Ninja Creami pint up to the max fill line. Use a milk frother to mix any settled bits.
  3. Freeze 24 hours. Keep the pint flat in your freezer. A domed top can damage the blade.
  4. Run under hot water. Once frozen solid, run the outside of the pint under hot water for 60โ€“90 seconds before loading.
  5. First spin: Lite Ice Cream. Powdery is normal.
  6. Re-spin. This is where the texture goes silky. Re-spin again if needed.
  7. Add graham wafers and mix in. Make a hole in the center, drop in the crushed graham wafers, hit Mix-In. Scoop and eat โ€” or skip the mix-in step and just sprinkle graham crumbs on top to keep them extra crunchy.

Tips for the Best Texture

  1. Always re-spin if it looks crumbly. First spin = powdery. Second spin = creamy. Don’t add liquid and panic โ€” re-spin first.
  2. Use a ripe banana. Brown speckles = sweeter, deeper banana flavor. A green banana will taste starchy and chalky. If your banana isn’t ripe enough, microwave it in its peel for 30 seconds to speed up the ripening.
  3. Blend the banana fully. Whole banana pieces left in the base will freeze into icy chunks. A 30-second blend solves it.
  4. Sprinkle graham wafers on top instead of mixing in if you want maximum crunch. Mixing them through pulverizes them into smaller pieces.
  5. Short on time? Skip the wait, change the buttons. If you only froze 12โ€“16 hours, skip Re-spin entirely. After Lite Ice Cream, go straight to Mix-In. This stops a half-frozen base from getting soupy.

Mix-In Variations

  • Chunky monkey: Add 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips and a swirl of peanut butter at the mix-in stage
  • Bananas foster: Drizzle 1 tbsp of sugar-free caramel sauce through the ice cream after spinning
  • Banana split: Top with a swirl of sugar-free chocolate sauce, a few chopped pecans, and a dollop of whipped cream
  • Strawberry banana pie: Swirl in 1 tbsp of strawberry jam after the first spin
  • Dairy-free: Use full coconut milk instead of Fairlife and a plant-based vanilla protein powder. Texture will be slightly less creamy but still really good.
  • Higher protein: Add 2 tbsp of cottage cheese to the base before blending. Pushes the protein over 50g per pint with no chalkiness.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fairlife 2% milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1.5 tbsp banana cream jello pudding mix
  • ยฝ banana
  • 2 graham wafers

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients except graham wafers to a blender or food processor. Blend till smooth then add up to the max fill line and mix well with hand held frother.
  • Freeze container for 24 hours until frozen solid.
  • Remove frozen pint and run it under hot water for 60-90 seconds.
  • Install the pint into your machine and press the Lite Ice Cream button for the first spin.
  • Check the texture. If itโ€™s still a bit powdery, pop it back in and press the Re-Spin button.
  • Check ice cream. The final product should be creamy and have a smooth texture. If your desired consistency isn't reached you can add a tbsp of milk and spin again on the respin setting. Keep in mind when you add mix-ins it will mix the ice cream again.
  • Once ice cream is creamy and smooth, make a small hole in the center of the pint and add the graham wafers. Blend once more on the mix-in setting and enjoy! Alternatively, you can simply add a few toppings to the top and enjoy immediately without spinning again.

Notes

I used PEScience Gourmet Vanilla protein powder – use code BAILEY at checkout to save $$ on all their products.
You can use Fairlife skim milk in this recipe instead. Keep in mind the higher in fat the milk = richer, smoother, dreamier ice cream.
You don't necessarily have to wait the full 24 hours of freezing time. Yes, waiting the full 24 hours will give you the best, most consistent results. But if you only froze it for 12-16 hours and youโ€™re desperate for a frozen treat, youโ€™re not out of luck. Skip the respin button and instead, hit the Mix-Ins button after the Lite Ice Cream cycle. This prevents the ice cream from getting overworked and soupy, which can happen when the base hasnโ€™t fully solidified.
If your ice cream comes out powdery or crumbly after the first spin, instead of immediately reaching for the milk, try hitting the respin button first. More often than not, thatโ€™s all you need to get it creamy.
I always pre-chop or crush your mix-ins ahead of time.

The recipe sounds delicious. Any idea where I might find the skin milk you’ve recommended? I’ve googled and googled with no success. The FBI has showed up to my house twice. I was glad to see them. I figured if anyone knows where I could get skin milk, it would be them. Nope. Unfortunately not.

    1. Hi Daniel,

I always buy mine from Save On Foods. I know you can also find it at Walmart and IGA as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Good luck with the police!!

  2. Do you recommend sticking with a whey/casein blends, like PESceince, or have you had luck with pure whey protein powders?

    1. Hi Shola, I only ever use my whey/casein blends!! I’m sure a pure whey will work great as well though! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Made it and it was amazing! Just used fairlife instead of almond milk and tasted just as good. Saving this!
