Strawberry Fruit Dip With Cool Whip (3 Ingredients, 5 Minutes)

This strawberry fruit dip is light, fluffy, and made with just 3 ingredients โ€” Greek yogurt, Cool Whip, and sugar-free strawberry Jell-O powder. Ready in 5 minutes, no cream cheese required, and somehow tastes like dessert.

Let’s be real โ€” sometimes you just need a fluffy, fruity, five-minute miracle to dip your strawberries into and pretend you’re at a cute brunch even if you’re just in sweats standing at the kitchen counter. This strawberry fruit dip is that recipe.

Three ingredients. No mixer required. Ready faster than it takes to cut the fruit. And because it uses Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese, it’s significantly lighter than most fruit dip recipes without tasting like it’s trying to be healthy.

Also: it’s pink. It looks amazing on a fruit tray. That matters.

Ingredients You’ll Need

(Full measurements are in the recipe card below.)

  • Plain Greek yogurt โ€” the base and the secret to making this lighter than traditional fruit dip. Use full-fat or 2% for the creamiest texture. Non-fat Greek yogurt works but the dip will be slightly thinner.
  • Cool Whip โ€” make sure it’s fully thawed before using. Take it out of the freezer a few hours ahead or thaw in the fridge overnight. Partially frozen Cool Whip will leave lumps in the dip that won’t blend out. No Cool Whip? Whip 1 cup of heavy cream to stiff peaks as a substitute.
  • Sugar-free strawberry Jell-O powder โ€” the flavor and color. Use it dry straight from the packet โ€” don’t prepare it according to the box. Regular (non sugar-free) Jell-O powder works too if that’s what you have on hand.

How to Make Strawberry Fruit Dip

  1. Combine everything. In a medium bowl, add the Greek yogurt, thawed Cool Whip, and sugar-free strawberry Jell-O powder.
  2. Mix thoroughly. Stir vigorously with a spatula or use a hand mixer on low speed. Mix for a full 60โ€“90 seconds until completely smooth and no traces of Jell-O powder remain โ€” you shouldn’t see any pink streaks or grit. Under-mixing is the only way this recipe goes wrong.
  3. Taste and adjust. Want it pinker and more strawberry-forward? Add a little more Jell-O powder. Want it lighter and fluffier? Fold in a little more Cool Whip.
  4. Serve immediately or chill. Serve right away or cover and refrigerate for up to an hour to let the flavors develop and the dip firm up slightly.

Mix until no grit remains. The Jell-O powder needs to be completely dissolved into the yogurt and Cool Whip โ€” not just stirred in. Mix for longer than you think you need to. If you rush this step, the dip will have a slightly gritty texture from undissolved powder.

Thaw the Cool Whip completely. Partially frozen Cool Whip will not incorporate smoothly no matter how much you mix. Thaw fully in the fridge overnight for the smoothest result.

Make it ahead. This dip actually gets better after an hour or two in the fridge โ€” the Jell-O powder has more time to fully dissolve and the flavors meld together.

What to Serve With Strawberry Fruit Dip

The obvious answer is strawberries. But this dip works with basically anything that needs a reason to exist:

  • Fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries
  • Apple slices โ€” Granny Smith for a tart contrast, Honeycrisp for sweet
  • Pineapple chunks, melon cubes, or seedless grapes
  • Graham crackers or Nilla wafers for a dessert situation
  • Pretzels for a sweet-salty combo
  • Animal crackers for when kids are involved (or you have the soul of a child)

Variations

  1. Lemon โ€” use sugar-free lemon Jell-O powder instead of strawberry. Bright and refreshing.
  2. Raspberry โ€” sugar-free raspberry Jell-O for a deeper berry flavor.
  3. Peach โ€” sugar-free peach Jell-O. Surprisingly excellent with apple slices.
  4. Orange creamsicle โ€” sugar-free orange Jell-O powder. Nostalgic in the best way.
  5. Regular (non-sugar-free) โ€” swap in regular Jell-O powder if you’re not watching sugar. Slightly sweeter and a brighter color.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Stir gently before serving again as it may separate slightly. Do not freeze โ€” Cool Whip dips don’t thaw well and the texture becomes watery.
