SIMPLE INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR THE APPLE PIE ICE CREAM RECIPE
You will need the full ingredient list below to make the ice cream base (the exact measurements, nutritional information and full recipe are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post):
- Fairlife skim milk – can also use Fairlife whole milk for a more creamy option
- Unsweetened almond milk
- Sugar-free vanilla Jello mix
- Apple pie protein powder from PEScience – can also use vanilla protein powder but will have to use nutmeg and more apple flavors.
- Sautéed apple
- Rolled oats
- Butter or coconut oil
- Ground cinnamon
- Golden monk fruit sweetener – can also use brown sugar
HOW TO MAKE
- Add the skim milk, almond milk, jello mix and apple pie protein powder to the ninja creami pint container up to the max fill line and mix well with hand held frother.
- Freeze container for 24 hours until frozen solid.
- Once the ice cream is frozen solid, heat the butter over medium heat in a small pan.
- Add the diced apples and sprinkle with cinnamon. Sauté until the apples are soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Let the sautéed apples cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, melted butter or coconut oil, sweetener, and cinnamon.
- Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Let cool.
- Remove frozen pint, run under hot water for 60 seconds and install into your machine. It’s important that your pint has a level surface, otherwise it can damage the blade.
- For the first spin, press lite Ice Cream button. Remove the outer bowl lid. If ice cream is still powdery, then add back to machine and press respin button.
- Check ice cream. The final product should be creamy and have a smooth texture. If your desired consistency isn’t reached you can add a bit of liquid and spin again on the respin setting.
- Add your sautéed apples and spin one last time on “Mix-ins” setting. Scoop the ice cream into bowls and sprinkle generously with the oat crumble topping.
- Dig in and enjoy the flavors of apple pie in a creamy, protein-packed ice cream!
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS
For the best results when making Apple Pie Protein Ice Cream, start by sautéing the apples with a bit of butter or coconut oil and cinnamon until they are soft and caramelized. This enhances their natural sweetness and adds depth to the flavor.
Ensure the sautéed apples are completely cool before blending them into the ice cream base to prevent melting the other ingredients.
When mixing the Fairlife skim milk, unsweetened almond milk, sugar-free vanilla Jello mix, and apple pie protein powder, mix until smooth to create a creamy and well-incorporated base.
For the oat crumble topping, mix rolled oats, melted butter, sweetener, and cinnamon, then toast until golden brown for a crunchy contrast to the creamy ice cream.
These tips will help you create a delicious and satisfying Apple Pie Protein Ice Cream that everyone will love.
