SIMPLE INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR THE VALENTINE’S DAY SALTINE CRACKER CANDY

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this easy dessert (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are in the recipe card at the end of this post):

  • Saltine crackers – graham crackers, club crackers, or pretzel pieces also work great here.
  • Unsalted butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Pure vanilla extract
  • White chocolate chips – can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or semi-sweet chocolate chips as well.
  • Valentine’s Day-themed sprinkles or toppings

HOW TO MAKE

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Place a single layer of saltine crackers on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they cover the entire surface.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil. Let it boil for 3 minutes then remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the cracker layer, spreading it with a spatula to coat them completely.

Bake in the preheated oven for 4-6 minutes or until the toffee is bubbling and has a rich, caramel color.

In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips.

Remove from the oven and immediately pour the melted chocolate over the hot toffee. Spread the melted chocolate evenly with a spatula.

While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle toppings over the top for a festive finish.

Allow the crack to cool completely then cut into squares. You can speed up the process by placing it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Enjoy!
