INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR THE BIG MAC CRUNCH WRAP RECIPE

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this Big Mac wrap (the exact measurements, nutrition information, and full recipe are in the printable recipe card below):

  • Large Tortilla: The bigger, the better. You want enough room to wrap up all that goodness. Low carb tortillas work well here if desired.
  • Ground Beef: Can also use ground turkey if you want a leaner option.
  • Big Mac Sauce: You can whip this up with mayo, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika using my Big Mac Sauce Recipe. Or, take the easy route and grab some from the store.
  • Sesame Seeds: This is our secret ingredient.
  • Crispy tostada shell – which are just the crunchy taco shells. If you can’t find these anywhere, tortilla chips will work just fine, or extra tortillas which you can air fry and make crunchy.
  • Shredded Lettuce: For a bit of crunch and freshness. Butter lettuce works perfect.
  • Diced Pickles: These are a must for that tangy kick.
  • Minced Onions: For a little bite. Red onion or yellow onion.
  • American Cheese: Because what’s a Big Mac without that melty cheese?

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Using a large skillet or large saute pan, cook ground beef (I recommend high-quality meat) over medium heat until brown. Crumble the beef into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon as you go, this will take 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add seasoning to frying pan, then place the large tortillas on a flat surface. Add a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each tortilla – about the size of the tostada shell.
  3. Then add Big Mac sauce on top of the meat and spread evenly. Top with sesame seeds then the tostada shell or crispy corn tortillas.
  4. Top with the shredded lettuce, diced pickles and minced onions. Use fresh ingredients for best results. Then add a slice of American cheese or shredded cheese.
  5. Tightly fold the edges of the flour tortilla towards the center of the tortilla, creating pleats as you go.
  6. In the same large nonstick skillet or a small saucepan, heat oil. Add crunch wrap folded side down and cook until golden brown over medium-high heat. This should take 2-3 minutes. Flip over to other side and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Continue with the remaining 3 and enjoy!

STORING THE LEFTOVER BIG MAC CRUNCHWRAP RECIPE

  1. Cool Down: Allow any leftover Crunchwraps to cool to room temperature before storing. This prevents steam from building up inside the storage container, which could make the wraps soggy.
  2. Wrap Tightly: Wrap each Crunchwrap individually in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. This keeps them sealed off from air and moisture, which helps preserve their texture and taste.
  3. Refrigerate: Place the wrapped Crunchwraps in the refrigerator. They should stay good for up to 2-3 days. For longer storage, you can freeze them, though this may affect the texture of the lettuce and other fresh ingredients upon reheating.
  4. Reheating: To reheat, unwrap the Crunchwrap and discard the foil or plastic wrap. For the best results, reheat them in a skillet over medium heat to help the tortilla get crispy again. If you’re in a hurry, microwaving works too, but you might lose some of the crispiness. If frozen, let it thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS

  1. Get the Right Tortillas: Use the largest flour tortillas you can find. The extra space makes wrapping all the tasty ingredients much easier and ensures everything stays neatly inside.
  2. Seal It Tight: When folding the tortilla, pleat the edges toward the center, pressing down gently but firmly to seal. A tight wrap ensures none of the good stuff escapes during cooking.
  3. Perfect the Flip: Cooking the Crunchwrap seam-side down first helps seal the edges and prevents it from unfolding. Use a spatula to carefully flip it, ensuring you keep it all together for that perfect golden brown finish on both sides.
  4. Customize Your Sauce: If you’re making your own Big Mac sauce, adjust the ingredients to taste. Some like it sweeter; others may prefer more of a tang. It’s all about hitting the right note for your taste buds.
  5. Cook on Medium Heat: Not too hot, not too cold. Cooking on medium heat allows the Crunchwrap to get crispy without burning, and gives the inside a chance to warm through.
  6. Use Quality Ingredients: Since there are relatively few components, using the best quality ingredients you can find (like fresh lettuce and quality ground beef) makes a big difference in the final taste.
  7. Serve Immediately: These are best enjoyed hot and crispy, straight from the skillet. The longer they sit, the less crispy they become, so gather everyone around and dive in as soon as they’re ready.
