HOW TO MAKE

  1. Crush the gluten-free Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed plastic bag and crushing them with a rolling pin. Remove 1/4 cup of cookie crumbs for the topping.
  2. Add the softened cream cheese to the crumbs and pulse until combined.
  3. Scoop out mixture using a small cookie scoop and roll into a ball (about the size of a golf ball). Smooth it out and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments until fully melted.
  5. Place the cookie dough balls into a fork and lower into the melted chocolate. Tap the fork onto the bowl to let excess chocolate coating drip off. Transfer back to cookie sheet and add cookie crumbles on top of the truffles immediately.
  6. Repeat until all the balls have been dipped. If the chocolate begins to thicken up, add back to microwave for 15 seconds so it’s easier to use.
  7. Allow balls to sit at room temperature until they are solid. Enjoy!

STORING LEFTOVER GLUTEN-FREE OREO TRUFFLES RECIPE

Let the Oreo balls set, then store them in an airtight container (parchment between layers) in the fridge for up to 1 week.

For longer storage, freeze them for 2โ€“3 months and thaw in the fridge for 30โ€“60 minutes before serving. Room temp is party-onlyโ€”max 2 hours, then back to the fridge.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS

  • Soften the cream cheese. Room temp mixes cleanly and wonโ€™t leave little lumps in the โ€œdough.”

  • Chill before dipping. 15โ€“20 minutes in the freezer helps balls hold shape so they donโ€™t slide off the fork.

  • Work in batches. Keep half the tray chilling while you dip the first half; cold centers make cleaner coats.

  • Thin if needed. If the coating is thick, stir in ยฝโ€“1 tsp neutral vegetable oil so it glides instead of gloops.

  • Dip with a fork, not a spoon. The gaps let excess coating drip offโ€”tap the fork on the bowl for a thin, even shell.

  • Top fast. Sprinkle reserved crumbs or decor right after dipping, before the shell firms up.
