HOW TO MAKE

  1. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch square pan lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium-low heat.
  3. Add marshmallows and stir until melted completely. Then add vanilla extract to the melted marshmallows.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly add the lucky charms and mix well until the cereal is well coated.
  5. Using a rubber spatula add the gooey marshmallow treats to the prepared pan and push down slightly. You can use nonstick cooking spray on the spatula to help get an even layer.

STORING THE LEFTOVER LUCKY CHARM TREATS

Alright, let’s talk about keeping those Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats as fresh as the day you made them!

First things first, you want to make sure they’re cool before you even think about storing them. Patience is a virtue, my friend.

Once they’re cool, slide them into an airtight container – this is key to keeping them from turning into a sad, stale mess.

Now, if you’re stacking them up, here’s a pro tip: put a piece of parchment paper or wax paper between the layers. It’s like giving each treat its own little throne, so they don’t stick together and become one big, marshmallowy blob.

And where do you put them? Keep that container in a cool, dry place. A pantry or a cupboard away from the stove or any heat is perfect.

But what if you’re a baking queen and made a mountain of treats? No worries! You can totally freeze them.

Wrap each treat individually in plastic wrap, and then pop them into a freezer bag. They’ll stay good for up to 6 weeks – just thaw them at room temperature when you’re ready for a treat.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS

First up, the butter. Don’t skimp on it, and make sure it’s melted just right – not browned, but melted.

This is what gives your treats that silky texture. And for the marshmallows, keep a little stash to the side to add in at the end for those gooey pockets of joy that everyone loves.

Now, when you’re mixing in the cereal and marshmallows, be gentle. You want to fold them in lovingly, so they don’t get crushed.

Think of it as a tender embrace between ingredients.

And here’s a little hack – dampen your hands or the spatula with a bit of water to keep everything from sticking when you’re pressing the mixture into the pan. It’s a game-changer, trust me!

Timing is everything. Don’t let the marshmallow mixture cool too much before adding the cereal, or it’ll be tough to mix.

And once you’ve pressed the mixture into the pan, let it set – but not for too long. Cutting them while they’re a touch warm is the secret to clean, sharp edges that make your treats look as good as they taste.

If you’re feeling extra, toss in some white chocolate chips or a drizzle of caramel on top. It’s all about making these treats your own. And remember, having fun with it is the most important ingredient of all.
