High Protein Tiramisu Iced Latte
This high protein tiramisu iced latte is the viral cafรฉ drink made with protein milk and a sugar-free mascarpone cold foam. Double espresso, vanilla, and a dusting of cocoa, with a fraction of the sugar.

I order a tiramisu latte every time I see one on a cafรฉ menu, and then I taste it and it is basically a milkshake with a coffee rumor in it. So I made my own.
A high protein tiramisu iced latte is the dessert-style coffee drink made with espresso, protein milk, and a whipped mascarpone cold foam, dusted with cocoa to taste like tiramisu. This version swaps the sugar syrups for sugar-free vanilla and builds the foam on protein milk, so you get the same creamy, coffee-forward tiramisu hit with way less sugar and around 17g of protein.
I have made this one more mornings than I want to admit, and it lands closer to the actual dessert than any cafรฉ version I have paid for.

Why You’ll Love This High Protein Tiramisu Iced Latte
- It drinks like a dessert but it is built on protein milk and sugar-free syrup, so it earns a spot in your actual morning rotation, not just a cheat day.
- The cold foam is the whole trick, and it comes together in one bowl with a handheld frother.
- It costs a couple of dollars and five minutes at home instead of cafรฉ prices and a line, and you control exactly how sweet it gets.
Ingredients You Need For A Tiramisu Iced Latte
The exact measurements, nutrition info, and full recipe are in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
For the latte:
- Double shot of espresso. The backbone. Strong brewed coffee or cold brew concentrate works if you do not have a machine.
- 1% protein milk. The creamy base, higher in protein than the cafรฉ’s whole milk. I use Dairyland. Any milk works, and a higher-protein milk pushes the number up.
- Sugar-free vanilla syrup. The tiramisu sweetness without the sugar. This is where the cafรฉ versions add most of their sugar.
For the mascarpone cold foam:
- Mascarpone or cream cheese. The tiramisu flavor. Mascarpone is classic, cream cheese is the swap and tastes nearly identical here.
- Heavy cream. Whips the foam thick enough to sit on top instead of sinking.
- Protein milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup. Loosen and sweeten the foam.
- Sugar-free powdered sugar. Sweetens without grit and helps the foam hold its shape.
- Cocoa powder. Unsweetened, for dusting. Do not use sweetened drinking chocolate, it is a different thing.

How To Make A High Protein Tiramisu Iced Latte
Make the cold foam:
- Add the mascarpone, heavy cream, protein milk, sugar-free vanilla syrup, and sugar-free powdered sugar to a small bowl or tall cup.
- Froth with a handheld frother until it thickens to soft peaks and mounds on the spoon, about 30 to 60 seconds.
Build the latte: 3. Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the protein milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup and stir. 4. Pull a double shot of espresso, let it cool for a minute, then pour it over the milk. 5. Spoon the cold foam over the top and dust with cocoa powder. Drink it right away, while the foam is still sitting up.
Tips For The Best Tiramisu Iced Latte
- Whip the foam to soft peaks before it goes on. Under-whipped foam is too thin and sinks straight through the drink, which is the number one reason a tiramisu latte looks flat. It should mound on the spoon.
- Let the espresso cool for a minute before it hits the glass. Pouring it boiling hot melts the cold foam and thins everything out.
- Make the foam ahead. It holds in the fridge for a couple of days, so you can whip a batch and spoon it onto a fresh latte all week.
- Dust the cocoa last, right before you drink it. Add it early and it sinks into the foam instead of sitting on top like real tiramisu.

Variations
- Make it hot. Skip the ice, warm the milk, and pour the espresso in hot for a cozy version.
- Switch the flavor. Sugar-free caramel or hazelnut syrup in place of vanilla changes the whole drink.
- Dairy free. Use a dairy-free cream cheese and a thick plant cream for the foam, and your milk of choice for the base.
High Protein Tiramisu Iced Latte FAQ
What does a tiramisu iced latte taste like?
Like tiramisu in a glass. You get bold espresso, sweet vanilla cream, and a bitter cocoa finish, the same three notes as the dessert, in a drink you sip.
Do I need an espresso machine?
No. A double shot of espresso is best, but strong brewed coffee or cold brew concentrate works as long as it is bold enough to stand up to the cream.
Is this tiramisu latte gluten free?
Yes. The drink skips the ladyfingers the dessert uses, and every ingredient in it is gluten free, so the whole thing is naturally gluten free.
How much protein is in a tiramisu iced latte?
This version has around 17g of protein, mostly from the protein milk in the base and the foam. A cafรฉ tiramisu latte made with whole milk and sugar syrups has less protein and a lot more sugar.
