How To Make The Breakfast Hash Browns Recipe

  1. Crisp the cheese โ€“ On a non-stick skillet over medium heat, sprinkle shredded cheese into a circle slightly larger than your hashbrown patty.

  2. Add the hashbrown โ€“ Place a cooked hashbrown patty directly on top of the melting cheese, smash it so it’s very flat, then let it cook until the cheese is golden and crispy underneath.

  3. Flip & fold โ€“ Carefully flip the whole thing, and continue cooking other side. Remove from heat.

  4. Fill it up โ€“ Add sliced avocado, a cooked egg, chili onion crunch, and any other toppings you like.

  5. Serve immediately โ€“ These are best eaten hot and crispy.

Tips And Tricks For Best Results

  • Use a non-stick skillet to prevent the cheese from sticking.

  • Let the cheese fully crisp before flipping for maximum crunch.

  • For extra flavor, mix herbs or spices into your shredded cheese before cooking.

Storing Leftover Hash Brown Taco

These are best eaten fresh, but you can store cooked hashbrowns separately in the fridge for up to 3 days, then re-crisp and assemble just before serving.

Faqs

Can I use corn tortillas or flour tortillas instead of cheese as the base of this crispy hashbrown taco?

Yes โ€” lightly toast corn tortillas in a pan with a bit of olive oil for flavor, then follow the recipe with your toppings. Keep in mind this will yield a much different result.

Can I add meat to these tacos?

Yes โ€” brown ground beef, brown sausage, or even extra sausage pieces in a pan, then add them to your tacos for more protein.

Can I make these breakfast hashbrown tacos for Taco Tuesday?

Absolutely โ€” switch up the toppings each week to keep things fun. Serve with taco sauce or hot sauce for extra flavor.

How many calories are in a breakfast hashbrown taco?

It depends on your toppings and portion sizes. Using eggs, avocado, and cheese will increase calories but also add protein and healthy fats.
