HOW TO MAKE

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (175°C). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Prepare the Pancake Batter: In a mixing bowl, prepare the pancake batter according to the instructions on the package. Typically, this involves mixing the pancake mix with water until smooth. You can also add a scoop of protein powder if desired.
  3. Assemble the McGriddle Bites: Add in the cooked sausage, cheddar cheese and maple syrup to bowl. Mix until combined. Spoon pancake batter into each muffin cup, filling them about 3/4 way up.
  4. Bake in the Oven: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the McGriddle bites are golden brown and cooked through. You can test for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of a muffin – it should come out clean when they’re ready.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Once baked, remove the muffin tin from the oven and allow the McGriddle bites to cool for a few minutes. Then, carefully remove them from the muffin tin and transfer them to a serving plate. Serve warm with a side of maple syrup for dipping or drizzling if desired.

STORING THE LEFTOVER SAUSAGE MCGRIDDLE RECIPE

For storing leftover Sausage McGriddle Bites, allow them to cool completely before transferring them to an airtight container or resealable plastic bag. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days for optimal freshness.

To reheat, simply microwave them for a quick breakfast or warm them in the oven for a few minutes until heated through. Enjoy a delicious and convenient meal anytime!

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS

  1. Use Non-Stick Muffin Tins: To prevent the McGriddle Bites from sticking, make sure to use non-stick muffin tins or generously grease the tins with cooking spray or butter before adding the batter.
  2. Don’t Overfill the Muffin Cups: Be careful not to overfill the muffin cups with batter. Leave a little space at the top to allow the McGriddle Bites to rise while baking without overflowing.
  3. Adjust Baking Time if Necessary: Oven temperatures can vary, so keep an eye on the McGriddle Bites as they bake. If they’re browning too quickly on the edges, you may need to reduce the baking time slightly.
  4. Allow to Cool Before Storing: Let the baked McGriddle Bites cool completely before storing them in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag to prevent condensation and sogginess.
  5. Reheat Properly: When reheating leftovers, place the McGriddle Bites on a microwave-safe plate and heat them in the microwave for about 30-60 seconds until warmed through. Alternatively, you can reheat them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes.
