Starbucks Spinach Feta Wrap Copycat (Better Than the Original)

This copycat Starbucks spinach feta wrap is made with egg whites, a creamy spinach and sun-dried tomato cream cheese spread, and crumbled feta โ€” ready in 20 minutes, packed with nearly 30 grams of protein, and honestly better than the $6 version at the counter.

The Starbucks spinach feta wrap is one of those things that has no business being as good as it is. Egg whites, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, feta, cream cheese. That’s it. And yet every time I order one I feel unreasonably happy about a breakfast wrap.

Here’s what I found after making these at home about a dozen times: the cream cheese spinach spread is the secret.

Not just layering the ingredients โ€” actually mixing the cooked spinach directly into softened cream cheese with the sun-dried tomatoes before spreading it on the tortilla. That’s what makes it taste exactly like Starbucks and not just a sad egg white wrap.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Nearly 30 grams of protein per wrap โ€” egg whites and feta do serious work here. This is a breakfast that actually keeps you full.
  • Ready in 20 minutes โ€” faster than the Starbucks drive-through line on a Monday morning. Significantly faster.
  • Cheaper than Starbucks โ€” make 4 wraps at home for less than the price of 2 at the counter.
  • Perfect for meal prep โ€” make a batch on Sunday, refrigerate or freeze, and grab-and-go all week. Full instructions below.

Ingredients You’ll Need

(Full measurements are in the recipe card below.)

  • Fresh spinach โ€” fresh is better than frozen here. Frozen has too much water and makes the filling soggy even after squeezing. You need a lot โ€” it cooks down dramatically.
  • Cream cheese โ€” light cream cheese works perfectly and saves calories. Let it soften at room temperature for 10 minutes before mixing โ€” cold cream cheese clumps and doesn’t spread smoothly.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes in oil โ€” this is important. Buy the kind packed in olive oil, not the dry dehydrated ones. They’re softer, more flavorful, and the oil is what you cook the spinach in.
  • Egg whites โ€” carton egg whites are the move here. Easier, faster, less waste, and the result is identical to separating eggs yourself. Shake the carton well before using.
  • Feta cheese โ€” crumbled, and don’t be shy with it. Feta is the dominant flavor of this wrap and the saltiness is what makes it taste like Starbucks. Low-fat or full-fat both work.
  • Whole wheat tortilla โ€” a large burrito-size wrap. Lavash bread is the most authentic (closest to what Starbucks uses) but whole wheat tortillas work perfectly. Make sure it’s room temperature โ€” cold tortillas crack when folding.
  • Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, pepper โ€” the seasoning base for the spinach filling.

How to Make a Copycat Starbucks Spinach Feta Wrap

  1. Cook the spinach. Heat a drizzle of olive oil from the sun-dried tomato jar in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the fresh spinach and cook until completely wilted, about 2โ€“3 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. This step is not optional โ€” wet spinach makes soggy wraps.
  2. Make the cream cheese spread. In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, squeezed spinach, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Cook the egg whites. Wipe out the pan and return to medium heat. Add the egg whites and cook, pulling the edges in gently with a spatula to form a rough circle the size of your tortilla. Cook for 3โ€“4 minutes until set and no longer wet on top. Don’t flip โ€” you want it soft.
  4. Assemble. Spread the cream cheese spinach mixture down the center third of the tortilla. Lay the egg white patty on top. Sprinkle generously with crumbled feta.
  5. Fold like a burrito. Fold the bottom up, fold in the sides, and roll tightly. Don’t overstuff or it won’t hold together.
  6. Toast the wrap. Place the wrap seam-side down in a dry pan over medium heat. Press lightly with a spatula and cook for 2โ€“3 minutes per side until golden. Or air fry at 400ยฐF for 5โ€“6 minutes flipping halfway โ€” this is my preferred method for the crispiest result.
  7. Slice and serve. Cut diagonally and eat immediately. Or let cool completely before wrapping for meal prep.

Tips for the Best Results

Squeeze the spinach. Properly. Use paper towels and press hard until barely any liquid comes out. This is the single most important step. Skip it and the wrap is soggy within minutes of assembling.

Use carton egg whites. One cup of liquid egg whites per wrap. Faster, less mess, same result. Shake well before pouring.

Don’t skip the cream cheese spread. Mixing the spinach and sun-dried tomatoes into cream cheese rather than just layering them loose is what creates that authentic Starbucks flavor. It’s the difference between a good egg white wrap and a great one.

Toast it last. Always toast or air fry the assembled wrap before eating โ€” this is what makes the tortilla golden, slightly crispy, and holds everything together. A non-toasted wrap is just a cold burrito.

Variations

  1. Whole eggs โ€” use 2 whole eggs instead of egg whites for a richer, more filling wrap. Slightly higher calories but more flavor.
  2. Goat cheese โ€” swap the feta for crumbled goat cheese. Creamier and milder โ€” excellent variation.
  3. Roasted red peppers โ€” use jarred roasted red peppers instead of sun-dried tomatoes for a different Mediterranean flavor.
  4. Extra veggies โ€” add sautรฉed mushrooms, diced bell peppers, or baby kale to the spinach filling.
  5. Gluten-free โ€” use a gluten-free tortilla. Bring it to room temperature first so it doesn’t crack when folding.
  6. Pesto version โ€” stir 1 tablespoon of pesto into the cream cheese spread instead of Italian seasoning.

Meal Prep, Storage and Freezing

Refrigerator: Let the assembled wraps cool completely, then wrap individually in foil or plastic wrap. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 375ยฐF for 3โ€“4 minutes or in a dry skillet over medium heat until warmed through and crispy again.

Freezer: This is the real game-changer. Wrap each cooled wrap tightly in plastic wrap, then in foil. Freeze for up to 2 months. To reheat from frozen: thaw overnight in the fridge, then air fry at 375ยฐF for 5โ€“6 minutes. Or reheat directly from frozen in a 325ยฐF oven for 20โ€“25 minutes.

Meal prep tip: Make a full batch of 4 wraps on Sunday. Refrigerate 2 for the first half of the week and freeze 2 for the second half. Easiest breakfast rotation you’ll ever set up.

  7. Great recipe! I made mine with whole wheat lavash bread from Trader Joeโ€™s and itโ€™s perfect! Letโ€™s see how my make ahead ones taste tomorrow

  8. Can you make these ahead and freeze them individually? Or would that ruin the already-cooked egg whites?

    1. Hi Alyssa,

I find them a lot better fresh, however I have cooked and froze them before for meal prep. I let them thaw, and crisp them up again in the air fryer and they turn out pretty good! ๐Ÿ™‚
