Simple Ingredients You Need For The Tart Cherry Sleep Gummies

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make these high protein sweet treats (the full recipe, nutritional facts, and exact measurements are in the printable recipe card below):

  • Sour Cherry Clear Protein (1Up Nutrition) โ€“ Adds protein and bold cherry flavor. Use any clear protein flavor you like but remember to use code BAILS to save 20% off everything.

  • Cherry Mint Mojito Super Magnesium powder โ€“ For relaxation benefits and a refreshing twist. Use any magnesium drink powder if needed.

  • Tart cherry juice โ€“ Natural sweetness and color. Pomegranate or cranberry juice works too.

  • Water โ€“ To help dissolve ingredients and bloom gelatin.

  • Gelatin powderโ€“ Gives gummies their chewy texture. Use agar agar for a vegan version (adjust amounts).

  • Malic acid – this is optional but gives the super sour flavor like a Sour Patch Kid has. You can find this in some grocery stores but I purchased my Malic Acid Powder on Amazon.
  • Monkfruit sweetener – you only need this if you’re using the malic acid to cut the sour flavor. Otherwise it’s way too sour.

How To Make The Sour Cherry Gummies Recipe

  1. Mix liquids โ€“ In a bowl or large measuring cup, combine cherry juice and water. Stir in Sour Cherry Clear Protein until fully dissolved.

  2. Add magnesium powder โ€“ Mix in Cherry Mint Mojito Super Magnesium powder until smooth.

  3. Add gelatin โ€“ Sprinkle gelatin evenly over the top of the liquid and let it bloom for 2โ€“3 minutes.

  4. Heat gently โ€“ Warm the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until the gelatin fully dissolves (do not boil).

  5. Pour into molds โ€“ Transfer the liquid into silicone gummy molds or a parchment-lined dish.

  6. Chill & set โ€“ Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours until firm.

  7. Enjoy โ€“ Pop out gummies and store in the fridge.

Faqs

Do these sour cherry gummies actually help with sleep?

Magnesium is known to support relaxation and may help with better sleep quality.

Does tart cherry juice have natural vitamins and minerals?

Yes โ€” cherries are rich in vitamin C, potassium, and other minerals that support overall health and recovery.

Can I add honey or citric acid to these easy delicious gummies?

Yes โ€” honey can add natural sweetness, and citric acid will increase tartness for a more sour candy-like flavor.

Does cherry juice actually contain melatonin?

Cherry juice naturally contains small amounts of melatonin, the hormone that helps regulate sleep-wake cycles.

Thatโ€™s one of the reasons tart cherry juice is often recommended as a natural sleep aid โ€” it not only provides melatonin, but itโ€™s also rich in antioxidants like anthocyanins, which may reduce inflammation and support recovery.
