WHY THESE ARE THE BEST YOGURT BITES

The combination of chocolate, strawberries, and yogurt creates a symphony of flavors that will delight your taste buds. The natural sweetness of ripe strawberries complements the rich, velvety taste of chocolate, while the creamy tang of yogurt adds a refreshing twist.

Each ingredient enhances the other, resulting in a harmonious blend that will leave you craving more.

Chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters not only offer a medley of flavors but also a delightful contrast of textures. The creamy yogurt acts as a velvety base, while the crisp chocolate shell adds a satisfying crunch.

The small strawberry pieces nestled within the clusters provide bursts of juiciness, creating a dynamic and enjoyable eating experience.

INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR THE DARK CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY YOGURT CLUSTERS

You will need this full list of ingredients listed below to make the strawberry clusters (the exact measurements and full recipe are in the recipe card at the bottom of the post):

  • Fresh strawberries – can use different fruit if desired.
  • Plain greek yogurt
  • Honey or pure maple syrup
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Coconut oil
  • Sea salt
  • Optional – peanut butter, protein powder, etc.

HOW TO MAKE THE FROZEN TREATS

  1. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine yogurt and diced strawberries.
  3. Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, spoon mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly.
  4. Place the tray in the freezer for about 30 minutes to allow the yogurt clusters to firm up.
  5. In the meantime, melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Remove the tray from the freezer and, using a fork or toothpick, dip each frozen yogurt cluster into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.
  7. Place the coated clusters back on the parchment paper.
  8. Optional: Sprinkle crushed nuts, dried fruit, or coconut flakes on top of the chocolate-covered clusters for added texture and flavor.
  9. Return the tray to the freezer for another 15-20 minutes until the chocolate has hardened.
  10. Once the chocolate is completely set, transfer the chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters to an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator.

HOW TO STORE THE DELICIOUS TREAT

Storing your chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters properly is important to maintain their texture and flavor. Here are some guidelines for storing them:

  1. Refrigeration:It is best to store chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters in the refrigerator. The cool temperature will help keep the yogurt firm and prevent the chocolate from melting. Place the clusters in an airtight container or a sealable plastic bag to protect them from moisture and odors. This will also help maintain their freshness.
  2. Layering:To prevent the clusters from sticking together, you can layer them between sheets of parchment paper or wax paper inside the container. This will ensure that they retain their individual shapes and textures without merging.
  3. Avoid Moisture:Moisture can affect the texture of the clusters and cause them to become soggy. Make sure to store them in a dry environment and avoid exposing them to excess moisture. If the clusters do become slightly moist, you can blot them gently with a paper towel before consuming.
  4. Consumption Time:For the best taste and texture, it is recommended to consume chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters within 2-3 days of preparation. The yogurt and strawberries may begin to lose their freshness after this time, and the chocolate coating may lose its crispness. It’s always best to enjoy them while they are at their prime.
  5. Freezing (optional):If you need to store the clusters for a longer period, you can freeze them. Place the clusters in a freezer-safe container or bag, ensuring they are well-sealed to prevent freezer burn. Frozen clusters can last for up to 2-3 months. When you’re ready to enjoy them, allow them to thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

  1. I love this recipe! I made it according to the directions and they turned out perfectly!! I think my husband loves them more than his chocolate covered ice cream treats! Then I made it with whole raspberries! I dipped each individual raspberry in the yogurt mixture and froze them. I dipped each frozen raspberry in the melted chocolate and that was very time consuming. But the end result was amazing! Bitesized perfection!! Thank you!

    1. Hi Mary,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review!! So glad you enjoyed them and these modifications sound amazing!!

  2. Is there a substitution to use instead of coconut oil?

    1. You can simply skip it! It just helps to create a creamier consistency for the chocolate, but not necessary! 🙂
