SIMPLE INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR THE CHEESEBURGER PIZZA

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make the pizza crust (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post):

  • 1:1 Gluten-free all purpose flour
  • Baking powder – use this to make the self-rising flour.
  • Multi-purpose protein powder – I used PEScience and you can use code BAILEY at checkout to save money on all their products.
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Plain greek yogurt – can use fat-free greek yogurt if you desire.
  • The special sauce – our Homemade Mcdonald’s Big Mac SauceCan also use Thousand Island Dressing for convenience, but it will not yield the same results.
  • Big Mac pizza toppings – lean ground beef or ground turkey, low-fat mozzarella cheese, iceberg lettuce, diced onion, dill pickles, etc.
  • Optional – onion powder, tomatoes, etc.

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Prep the Dough: In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, protein powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Add the Greek yogurt and stir until you have a consistent dough. Feel free to get your hands in there!
  2. Shape It: On a piece of parchment paper, spread your dough into a round pizza shape. A rolling pin can help, but perfection is not the goal here; rustic charm is.
  3. Cook the Toppings: Brown your choice of lean meat over medium heat. Set aside.
  4. Sauce It Up: Mix the Big Mac burger sauce together.
  5. Air Fry It: Spray your air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray and add your pizza crust. Poke a few holes in the crust with a fork. Drizzle the crust with olive oil or more cooking spray. Pop it in the air fryer at 400 degrees F for about 5 minutes then flip the crust, being careful not to break the pizza base, and cook for another 3 minutes. Flip the crust back over then add your copycat Big Mac sauce, ground beef, and cheese. Air fry for another 2-3 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Top with lettuce, onions, and pickles. Slice it up and dive into the delicious world of guilt-free indulgence.

STORING THE LEFTOVER BIG MAC RECIPE

Oh, you thought you’d have leftovers? If by some miracle you do (because let’s be honest, this pizza is hard to resist), here’s how you keep that Protein Big Mac Pizza tasting fresh for the next round.

First up, don’t rush to box it up. Let the pizza cool to room temperature to avoid condensation inside the container. Soggy pizza? No, thank you.

Go for an airtight container if you can. If it’s too big, wrap individual slices snugly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. This keeps the air out and the flavor in.

Fridge: Good for a quick revisit. Your pizza will stay fresh for up to 2-3 days. Just make sure it’s covered or sealed to keep the fridge flavors out.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS

Flavor-Packed Sauce

  • Taste As You Go: Adjust the sauce to your liking. More tang, more sweetness, more spice? It’s your canvas.
  • Spread Evenly: Don’t neglect the edges! A little sauce goes a long way in keeping every bite as tasty as the center.

Choose Quality Toppings

  • Lean but Tasty: Opt for high-quality lean meats for the best flavor and texture. Remember, good ingredients are key to a great finished product.
  • Freshness Counts: Fresh toppings can really elevate your pizza. That crunch of lettuce, the tang of pickles – it’s all part of the experience.

Cheese Wisely

  • Mix It Up: Don’t be afraid to blend different types of low-fat cheese for depth of flavor.
  • Just Enough: While it’s tempting to pile on the cheese, remember it should complement, not overpower. You want to taste every layer of your masterpiece.

FAQS

CAN I MAKE THIS KETO BIG MAC PIZZA ON A REGULAR PIZZA NIGHT?

Absolutely! Swap out your usual pizza for this easy ground beef dinner recipe.

It’s a fun twist on fast food that everyone will love. Plus, it’s simple steps mean you can enjoy more time with your pals and less time in the kitchen.

WHAT TOPPINGS MIMIC THE CLASSIC BIG MAC THE BEST?

Layer your pizza with slices of American cheese, shredded lettuce, and pickle slices. For a true Big Mac feel, don’t forget a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top of the pizza.

These Big Mac pizza toppings bring that iconic fast food experience right to your pizza night.

CAN I MAKE THIS PIZZA WITHOUT CHEESE?

Yes, you can skip the cheese for a dairy-free version. If you’re going for that Big Mac vibe but without cheese, focus on beefing up (pun intended) the flavors of your meat mixture and secret sauce.

Adding some pickle juice or black pepper to the sauce can also help boost flavor.

CAN I USE A STORE-BOUGHT PIZZA CRUST INSTEAD?

Using a store-bought pizza crust is a great shortcut that makes this whole adventure even easier. Whether it’s a classic crust, a cauliflower crust for a low-carb option, or even those pre-baked pizza shells you find at the grocery store, you’re all set.

Just remember, the thickness and type of crust can affect baking times, so keep an eye on it. And hey, if you want to get a bit fancy, you could even brush the top of the crust with a little olive oil and sprinkle some sesame seeds on it to mimic that iconic Big Mac sesame seed bun vibe.
