SIMPLE INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR THE KITKAT CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this protein ice cream (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are in the recipe card at the bottom of the post):

  • Fairlife chocolate milk – alternatively you can use a chocolate protein shake and omit the chocolate protein powder. For a less rich chocolate flavor you can add some whole milk or even skim milk to lower the calories slightly.
  • Unsweetened almond milk
  • Sugar-free chocolate pudding mix – the instant pudding mix is used to make the ice cream thick and creamy. Can also use guar gum or xanthan gum.
  • Chocolate protein powder – chocolate whey protein or chocolate plant-based protein
  • KitKat bar
  • Optional – chocolate chips, vanilla extract, heavy cream, cocoa powder, etc.

HOW TO MAKE THIS SIMPLE RECIPE

  1. Add the chocolate milk, almond milk, pudding mix and chocolate protein powder to the ninja creami pint container up to the max fill line and mix well with hand held frother.
  2. Freeze container for 24 hours until frozen solid.
  3. Remove frozen pint, run under hot water for 60 seconds and install into your machine. It’s important that your pint has a level surface, otherwise it can damage the blade.
  4. For the first spin, press lite Ice Cream button. Remove the outer bowl lid. If ice cream is still powdery, then add back to machine and press respin button.
  5. Check ice cream. The final product should be creamy and have a smooth texture. If your desired consistency isn’t reached you can add a bit more liquid and spin again on the respin setting.
  6. Add your kit kats and mix again using the “mix-in” button. Enjoy!

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR BEST RESULTS

  1. Choose High-Quality Protein Powder: The protein powder not only adds the nutritional kick but also impacts the flavor and texture. Opt for a high-quality vanilla protein powder that blends well and tastes great for the best results.
  2. Freeze Thoroughly: Ensure your ice cream base is completely frozen before processing it in the Ninja Creami. A solid freeze ensures the creamiest texture without ice crystals.
  3. Room Temperature Ingredients: When blending your base, use ingredients that are at or near room temperature to ensure they mix evenly. Cold ingredients straight from the fridge can sometimes lead to a less smooth blend.
  4. Chunky KitKat Pieces: When adding your KitKat pieces, remember that some will get slightly broken down during the mixing process. Leave the pieces chunky enough to ensure you still get those satisfying bites even after the ice cream is fully processed.
