Monster cookies were the one I always reached for at the bakery case. The giant one with peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips, and M&Ms all crammed into ONE cookie. This is that cookie, spun into high-protein ice cream, and it scratches the exact same itch.

Monster Cookie protein ice cream is a high-protein frozen dessert made by blending milk, vanilla protein powder, powdered peanut butter, and pudding mix, freezing it for 24 hours, then spinning it in the Ninja Creami and folding in cookie dough and M&Ms. The peanut butter base is what makes it taste like a monster cookie, and the cookie-and-candy mix-ins bring the crunch.

I keep the base simple and let the mix-ins do the heavy lifting. A creamy peanut butter ice cream, loaded with cookie dough bites and colorful M&Ms, that actually keeps me full instead of leaving me hunting for a second scoop.

Ingredients You Need

  • Fairlife 2% milk โ€” creamy and high in protein, about 14g per cup. Skim, 1%, or whole all work, and the more fat, the creamier.
  • Unsweetened almond milk โ€” thins the base just enough to spin smooth. Oat or coconut milk are great here too.
  • Vanilla protein powder โ€” the protein, plus a vanilla backbone that lets the peanut butter and cookies shine. PEScience Gourmet Vanilla is my go-to, code BAILEY saves you a bit.
  • Sugar-free vanilla pudding mix โ€” my non-negotiable for texture. It’s what keeps this creamy instead of icy. A little guar gum works too.
  • Brown sugar โ€” for that warm, cookie-like sweetness. Brown monk fruit keeps it lower sugar.
  • Powdered peanut butter โ€” the secret to that monster cookie flavor without the extra fat. PB Fit or PB2 both work.
  • Vanilla extract and a pinch of salt โ€” they round everything out and make the cookie flavor pop.
  • Edible cookie dough pieces โ€” use heat-treated edible cookie dough, a cookie dough protein bar, or crushed chocolate chip cookies. Brownie dough is great too.
  • M&Ms โ€” the colorful candy that makes it a monster cookie. Mini M&Ms spread through more evenly.

How to Make Monster Cookie Protein Ice Cream

  1. Add everything except the cookie dough and M&Ms to your Ninja Creami pint and blend with a frother until smooth, keeping it under the max fill line.
  2. Cover and freeze flat for 24 hours, until it’s solid all the way through.
  3. Take the pint out, run the outside under hot water for 60 seconds, and make sure the top is level so it doesn’t damage the blade.
  4. Lock it into the machine and press Lite Ice Cream for the first spin.
  5. It’ll likely look powdery or crumbly after that first spin, and that’s normal. Add a tablespoon of milk and hit Re-Spin until it’s creamy.
  6. Dig a well in the center, add the cookie dough bites and M&Ms, and press Mix-In. Pile more on top and dig in.

Tips for the Creamiest Texture

Mix the base really well before freezing. Get that protein powder, powdered peanut butter, and pudding fully dissolved and you’ll never hit a chalky or grainy spot.

Freeze the pint dead level for the full 24 hours. A tilted pint freezes uneven, and a base that isn’t frozen solid spins up soft instead of thick and creamy.

Don’t fear the re-spin. A crumbly first spin is just the machine breaking everything up. One tablespoon of milk and one more spin, and it comes together into soft serve. Want it fluffier? Run it a third time.

Save the cookies and M&Ms for last. This is the big one. Add them with the Mix-In button after the base is already creamy and spin just ONCE, because every extra spin pulverizes your cookies into dust instead of leaving real chunks.

Variations and Mix-Ins

Make it blue โ€” a few drops of gel food coloring in the base turns this into the bright blue Cookie Monster version the kids go wild for.

Switch the cookies โ€” Oreo thins, Chips Ahoy, or crushed chocolate chip cookies all work in place of cookie dough.

Cookies and cream protein โ€” use a cookies and cream protein powder for an even more cookie-forward base.

Even higher protein โ€” blend 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese into the base. You won’t taste it, and it pushes the protein up while making it extra creamy.

Extra peanut butter โ€” swirl a tablespoon of real peanut butter into the base before freezing for a richer PB flavor.

How to Store

Smooth the top flat, pop the lid on, and store leftovers right in the Ninja Creami pint. It holds its best texture for up to 2 weeks.

When you want more, it’ll be frozen solid again, so let it sit out for 5 to 10 minutes, run it under hot water, and re-spin with a splash of milk to bring back that fresh-churned texture.

Monster Cookie Protein Ice Cream FAQ

What is monster cookie flavor? Monster cookie is the loaded bakery cookie made with peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips, and M&Ms. This ice cream captures that with a peanut butter base and cookie-and-candy mix-ins. It’s different from “Cookie Monster” ice cream, which is a bright blue vanilla base, though you can make this blue too if you want.

Is the cookie dough safe to eat? Yes, as long as you use edible cookie dough that’s made to be eaten raw, a cookie dough protein bar, or crushed baked cookies. Don’t use regular raw cookie dough made with flour and raw egg, since that isn’t safe to eat uncooked.

Can I use a protein shake instead of milk and protein powder? Yes. A vanilla protein shake in place of the Fairlife milk and protein powder is a quick shortcut. Keep the powdered peanut butter and pudding mix so you still get that monster cookie flavor and thick texture.

  1. I was wondering if I could use Fairlife protein drinks in place of the protein powder and the milk. I donโ€™t have any protein powder. I find that most protein powders hurt my stomach.
I have looked at several of your Ninja Creamie recipes the all look delicious. Iโ€™m looking forward to trying them.
